The Truth Chronicles: The Meeting by Tim Chaffey – Risen Books (2013)

tc-preFor those of you who don’t know, the Truth Chronicles by Tim Chaffey and Joe Westbrook follows the time travelling adventures of four teens from Silicon Valley Prep. The series is filled with fun, surprises, action, apologetics and, well, dinosaurs. As a bonus, the series is illustrated by the incomparable Christian manga artist Melissa Mathis, aka Inkhana.

The Meeting is a short story from Tim Chaffey that gives us a few details on how the gang met and how the events that launched The Time Machine came together. If you’re a fan, this story is a must-have. Fortunately for us,  its affordably priced at $0.99 for Kindle.

I won’t give any spoilers, but I will say that one of the mainstays of this series has been its humor and real-world apologetics. Even in this brief story, Chaffey gives us some good answers on bias, miracles and science. As usual, the material is covered in an easy-to-understand conversational manner, reflecting real conversations teens and other sci-fi fans are likely to have in their Christian walk.

Again, fans of the series will definitely want to add The Meeting to their Truth Chronicles library. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, this story will give you a little taste of why the characters are so compelling.
